Set in the splendor of the Magaliesburg Mountains, Glen Afric Country Lodge utilises the Brooker's original hilltop homestead, built in the classic East African style by John Brooker in the mid 1980's and turned into a luxury lodge in the mid 1990's.

The lodge is nestled in a private valley where the game roams freely in terrain that switches from savannahs to hills and mountains, offering spectacular panoramas.

Mineral water bubbles from the eye of our spring which supplies water to the lodge, safari camp and feeds a natural water course with its trout/ bass dams and hippo pool.

Our unique rehabilitation centre, which is home to the 'big five', in conjunction with the hi-tech breeding of endangered species and elephant therapy for handicapped children are ongoing projects at Glen Afric.

Safari Camp

Our true "Out of Africa" Hemingway Safari Camp, has five luxurious safari tents.

Enjoy the tranquility and sounds of the African night, an adventure with Zebra, Wildebeest,
Giraffe and other wildlife passing through.

An experience not to be missed.

All have gracious en-suite Victorian bathrooms, main bedroom and outdoor veranda.

Guests are escorted to the camp in open game drive vehicles by professional rangers, and return to the lodge for meals and activities.

Wildlife

 Glen Afric is the home of 32 species of African wildlife, including lion, cheetah, hippo, elephant, buffalo, plus over 340 identified bird species and a vulture restaurant, feeding over 120 birds.

This unique and diverse ecosystem boasts its own species of wildlife including leopard, brown hyena, black-backed jackal, caracal and genet, mountain reedbuck, gray duiker, baboon plus the smaller species such a vervet monkeys, bush babies, dassies and hedgehog.

Day Visitors

Daily game drives in open safari vehicles, with our professional rangers, allows for excellent game viewing and birding.

Experience the one to one with our tame animals.

Walk with our orphaned, hand raised, young elephants, up close and personal.

Walking safaris are always exciting, original and unpredictable.
